Arab Ambassadors meet with Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation

The Council of Arab Ambassadors in Germany met Thursday evening, June 12, 2014 with the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Mr Salaheddine Mezouar in the Hotel Regent in Berlin. Attending this meeting was the Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps, Saudi Ambassador Dr. Osama Shobokshi, Ambassador of Lebanon Dr. Mustapha Adib and Moroccan Ambassador Dr. Omar Zniber as well as the Arab ambassadors accredited to Germany.

During the event, the foreign minister Mezouar briefed the Arab ambassadors on the outcome of the EU-Arab league Foreign Ministers’ summit in Athens, which he convened as a chairman, and which discussed issues like fighting terrorism, Arab-European relations and the crisis in Syria.

Furthermore, the Minister highlighted the dimensions of inter-Arab relations and the importance of the partnership with the Gulf Cooperation Council as Morocco and Jordan are in the process of entering a strategic partnership with the council.

In the end, the minister pointed out the importance of the summit of the Arab Maghreb Union, which will be held in Tunisia coming October.
